In this ministry, parish nurses combine ministry with the art and science of nursing, always mindful of the relationship between faith and health.
The OLPH Nursing Ministry is a group of nurses who volunteer their time to promote health in the parish. Parish nurses function within the parameters of sever major roles: educator, personal health counselor, health advocate, referral agent, volunteer facilitator, developer of support groups and integrator of faith and health. Some of the activities we sponsor are: blood pressure screenings; health classes; one-to-one guidance for parishioners; community events like blood drives; and assisting the parish staff by acting as a resource for parish health-related concerns (e.g., AEDs in the church). We encourage members of the parish to contact us if they have questions or concerns related to health care.
We are seeking nurses, nurse practitioners, nursing students and nursing assistants who have an interest in serving God by serving the people of OLPH parish. We seek all specialties.
