The Legion of Mary is a world-wide organization, started by a gentlemen named Frank Duff in England, in the year 1921.
We are currently 12 active members and approximately 325 auxiliary members at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The only obligation for an auxiliary member is to pray the Rosary and the Legion prayers (the “Tessera”) daily. The active members must provide at least 2 hours of service weekly and report their works at our weekly meeting. We also have a Junior Legion for children between the ages of 9 through 17.
We go to nursing homes to pray the Rosary or Divine Mercy chaplet and to provide spiritual care companionship to the residents, we bring the Eucharist to the residents of the nursing homes and the homebound in our parish, we do door-to-door visitation, and we evangelize everyone we are in contact with through our works, our actions and our conduct. In addition, we bring our book barrow to community events, and we do much, much more.
Please consider joining us. Our motto is "To Jesus through Mary.”
