About Erin Barrett
Erin Barrett has been a member of the music ministry at OLPH since she was 8 years old, and her family have been members of the parish since before she was born. She joined the youth choir back in 2007, and continued up the chain to youth schola, youth band, flautist, cantor, adult choir, adult schola, and now, is proudly able to call herself the Director of Music.
Erin has been taking music lessons since 2004 and has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Adelphi University, and is certified to teach music in the state of New York. The past two years, she first taught at a small, private catholic school in New Jersey, teaching 1st Grade and conducting the high school choir; and teaching Music Theory and Music Technology at a private school in Queens for children with special needs.
In her spare time, Erin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing video games, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Her faith has always been an important part of her and her family's life so she is grateful she can give back to her home parish in a way that continues to deepen her faith, while still doing what she loves by encouraging everyone to “Sing to the Lord”.
