About Deacon James Totino
Jackie and I reside in Lindenhurst, NY and were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in 2009. Since that time, we have been involved in many ministries including youth ministry, religious faith formation, prayer groups, and the ministry of lectors. I was ordained to the Order of Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Rockville Centre on May 20, 2023. Jackie has been a huge part of this journey and we were both graced to receive our master’s in theology degree from St. Joseph’s Seminary and College (Dunwoodie).
The multi-year formation process for the diaconate was built on a foundation of academic, spiritual, pastoral, and humanistic pillars and provided me with a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith. The earliest Christians preached Christ risen and I hope to bring the light of Christ to all I encounter in today’s culture. The Resurrection of Jesus makes Christianity unique among all other religions and I can only hope to nurture my relationship with Jesus Christ and to share with others the joy of the Gospel.
I currently work as a portfolio specialist for Morgan Stanley, a firm that I have been with for over 30 years. Outside of work, Jackie and I love spending time together. We are both third order Franciscans and enjoy the simple things in life including fishing, gardening, or evening strolls by the water.
