About Deacon Frank
Born 1936 in Queens, NYC. Mother Lutheran. Father Roman Catholic. Catechized in Lutheran faith as an adolescent and Catechized in the Roman Catholic faith as a teenager. Attended P.S. 136 Queens and Andrew Jackson H.S., Queens. Worshiped at St. Paschal Baylon RC Church, St. Albans, Queens.
Married Barbara Ethel Mebes in 1956 at St. Christopher’s RC Church, Baldwin, Nassau. We are the parents of six children, grand parents of eleven children and have one great grand daughter.
I served in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1959 and assigned to the Army Reserve from 1959 to 1962 and was Honorably Discharged. In 1962 I was sworn in as a Police Officer in the New York City Police Dept. After serving in the NYPD for 20 years I retired from that career and began working as an Aircraft Electrical Technician at a Federally Licensed Aircraft Accessory Overhaul Company. At age 62 I retired from there.
It was back in late 1979 that I began my studies for the Diaconate at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington, NY. On May 19, 1984 I received the Sacrament of Holy Orders and was ordained a deacon to serve at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Lindenhurst which has been my home parish since 1963. I am blessed that after 31 years serving my brothers and sisters in Christ as a deacon I am still physically and mentally able to be their servant in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.
