About Deacon Doug Smith

Eileen and I have been married for 35 years and believe me time flies when you have fun. There were many ups and downs over the years like I’m sure most of you have experienced but when you look back over this time I really believe we were truly blessed by the Lord.

I work for Catholic Health Services as Director of Patient Financial Systems. My role is in Information Systems and I am responsible for all of the financial application that the six Catholic hospitals use. I love the work that I do because it is very challenging and extremely rewarding when complete. I have been with Catholic Health services for 20 years; I started at St Charles Hospital as assistant Director of Information Systems.

My Ordination to the permanent Deaconate has been nothing less than amazing. Actually I never thought I would ever make it, I really had no plans of becoming a Deacon. But as the Lord does he puts people and things in your path to lead you to where you need to be. Five years later I was a Deacon, God is good.

I love to relax when I can by going to the beach with my wife or playing golf or just being with friends.
