About Deacon William Crosby

Born in Bronx N.Y. my family moved to Lindenhurst in 1953. I was educated in Lindenhurst School District and graduated in 1968. I attended Suffolk Community College and graduated in 1971 with a Liberal Arts major and Psychology minor. I met my wife Michele that same year and we married in January of 1973. That same year also, I joined the Nassau County Police force.

Michele and I were blessed with four children; Christine, Kathleen, William Jr. and Ryan and they have blessed us with 8 (one more on the way) grandchildren. I have been involved in a few social ministries including The Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts and coaching a baseball team. I have also been involved in Church ministries as well, such as; Holy Name society, Ushers, Life Teen, Eucharistic Minister.

I had aspirations of becoming a Deacon before I acted upon it before 2005, but, I suppressed it because I wanted to be sure. God, has a way of pushing us, so one day at a meeting with then pastor Monsignor Hamilton about Life Teen, he asked me have you ever thought about becoming a deacon? I entered into pastoral formation and then the seminary and was ordained in May 2009 along with Deacon Doug Smith.

This ministry continues to educate me in the ways of Christ. I believe we should try and learn every day, if possible, about all the riches of the Gospel and how we can utilize these riches in our lives and share it with others. I thank God for the blessing of this ministry and the honor to serve Him.
