Altar Servers assist the priest at Mass by holding the book, carrying the cross, candles and incense, preparing and clearing the altar, and doing other things to help at Mass. Being an Altar Server is open to boys and girls in the fourth grade and older, and it’s a great way to be involved at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. You make an important contribution to the life of the parish and you perform an important ministry. Besides, it's fun!!!
Boys and girls fourth grade and older, why not become an altar server? We would love to have you, and we will provide plenty of training — no prior experience is necessary!! If you are a boy or a girl who is in the 4th grade or older ― and it’s o.k. if you are in 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, or even older ― you are invited to become an altar server.
Parents, why not mention it to your daughter or son to get them interested? We do a formal recruitment once or twice a year, but you can contact Msgr. Joe any time you want to sign up for the next training class or just to get more information.
