About Frank Pokorney
Mr. Frank Pokorney has a strong background in banking and finance, having spent more than 50 years in the banking industry. After retiring from Astoria Federal Bank, he volunteered at the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition, first as the bookkeeper and then as a grant writer; he currently volunteers at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Islip in the cardiac care unit. He is a life-time member of the Church of St. Joseph in Babylon where he is a tenor in the Sunday 10:15 a.m. choir, and he has served in many volunteer capacities in that parish where he learned the inner workings of a vibrant and active church. He brings this knowledge and experience to OLPH.
Educated exclusively on Long Island, he has raised three children here with his wife of 46 years, Sally, and is the proud grandfather of two young girls. By tapping into the talents of the other Pastoral Staff members and the parishioners, Frank strives to make a positive difference in the spiritual direction of the people of Our Lady of Perpetual Help while being accountable and responsible for the parish finances and many gifts bestowed on the people of the parish.
